Job Summary:

Performs maintenance and repair of foundry production equipment to ensure safe and efficient operations.

Requirements

Duties

• Cooperate with supervisors, machine operators and other mechanics in troubleshooting and repair of production equipment.
• Respond to needs for immediate repair of production equipment.
• Complete scheduled preventative maintenance activities.
• Keep work area clean.
• Alert a member of Management to any safety or quality issues needing attention.
• Recommend process improvements.
• Participate in special activities, projects and programs in order to support Prospect Foundry safety, quality and productivity goals.
• Other duties as assigned or requested.

Knowledge and Skills Required

• Must be literate in English.
• Must have excellent mechanic skills and knowledge of electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic systems for production equipment.

Physical Requirements

• Must be able to use arms, hands, legs and feet in repetitive motions.
• Must be able to lift 50 pounds repetitively.
• Must be able to climb ladders and stairs and to stand and walk on concrete floors and uneven surfaces for the duration of the work shift.
• Must have good vision and depth perception.
• Must be able to work overtime as needed.

Formal Education and Training Required

• High school diploma or GED is required *
• Training shall be provided in all department Work Instructions, and such training shall be documented in employee training records.

Experience Required

• Minimum 2 years experience in repair and maintenance of heavy production equipment
