Job Summary:

Performs maintenance and repair of foundry production equipment to ensure safe and efficient operations.

Requirements

Duties

Cooperate with supervisors, machine operators and other mechanics in troubleshooting and repair of production equipment.
Respond to needs for immediate repair of production equipment.
Complete scheduled preventative maintenance activities.
Keep work area clean.
Alert a member of Management to any safety or quality issues needing attention.
Recommend process improvements.
Participate in special activities, projects and programs in order to support Prospect Foundry safety, quality and productivity goals.
Other duties as assigned or requested.

Knowledge and Skills Required

Must be literate in English.
Must have excellent mechanic skills and knowledge of electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic systems for production equipment.

Physical Requirements

Must be able to use arms, hands, legs and feet in repetitive motions.
Must be able to lift 50 pounds repetitively.
Must be able to climb ladders and stairs and to stand and walk on concrete floors and uneven surfaces for the duration of the work shift.
Must have good vision and depth perception.
Must be able to work overtime as needed.

Formal Education and Training Required

High school diploma or GED is required *
Training shall be provided in all department Work Instructions, and such training shall be documented in employee training records.

Experience Required

Minimum 2 years experience in repair and maintenance of heavy production equipment
