Position Overview
We are seeking a Payroll & Benefits Specialist to support and enhance our growing HR operations. This role is ideal for someone who is detail-oriented, organized, and passionate about supporting employees while ensuring compliance and efficiency in payroll and benefits processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Process bi-weekly payroll using ADP, ensuring accuracy for wages, overtime, bonuses, and adjustments
- Verify timecards, attendance, PTO balances, and shift differentials
- Maintain payroll and benefits records within HRIS/ERP systems
- Ensure compliance with federal and state regulations (IRS, DOL, Texas Workforce Commission)
- Administer employee benefits including health insurance, 401(k), and COBRA
- Act as the main point of contact for payroll and benefits inquiries
- Prepare payroll reports, labor cost summaries, and audit documentation
- Reconcile payroll registers, tax withholdings, and benefit deductions
- Support onboarding and offboarding processes (I-9s, benefits enrollment, etc.)
- Assist with Workers’ Compensation and unemployment claims
- Collaborate with HR leadership on process improvements
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business Administration, or related field (preferred)
- 2+ years of payroll and/or benefits administration experience
- Hands-on experience with ADP (Workforce Now preferred)
- Experience with multi-shift and hourly payroll processing
- Knowledge of benefits administration (health, 401(k), COBRA)
- Familiarity with HRIS/ERP systems
- Understanding of employment laws (FLSA, FMLA, ADA, etc.)
- Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Manufacturing experience is a plus
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus
