Manual Machinist (Houston, TX)
$18 to $25 per hour based on experience. Direct hire, full time, one opening.
Melben is hiring a Manual Machinist for a Houston fastener and specialty component maker at its ISO 9001 certified plant. This is a permanent, direct hire spot on a small crew.
This is a manual shop, not a CNC shop. There are no CNC machines at the Houston plant. If you have run a manual lathe or a manual mill and you want to keep running them, this is the job for you.
What You Will Run
- Precision rotary rolling equipment (Kinefac Kineroller MC-50) for thread rolling, knurling, and burnishing on rod and bar stock
- Manual lathes and manual mills
- Stud chamfering equipment
- Production runs of studs, bolts, threaded rod, and specialty fasteners
What We Are Looking For
- Hands on time on a manual lathe and/or a manual mill. Tell us how long and on what machines.
- Comfortable reading prints and using calipers, mics, and thread gauges
- Thread rolling, rolling dies, knurling, or rod and bar work is a strong plus
- Steady, production minded, and shows up every day
