Manual Machinist (Houston, TX)

$18 to $25 per hour based on experience. Direct hire, full time, one opening.

Melben is hiring a Manual Machinist for a Houston fastener and specialty component maker at its ISO 9001 certified plant. This is a permanent, direct hire spot on a small crew.

This is a manual shop, not a CNC shop. There are no CNC machines at the Houston plant. If you have run a manual lathe or a manual mill and you want to keep running them, this is the job for you.

What You Will Run

Precision rotary rolling equipment (Kinefac Kineroller MC-50) for thread rolling, knurling, and burnishing on rod and bar stock
Manual lathes and manual mills
Stud chamfering equipment
Production runs of studs, bolts, threaded rod, and specialty fasteners

What We Are Looking For

Hands on time on a manual lathe and/or a manual mill. Tell us how long and on what machines.
Comfortable reading prints and using calipers, mics, and thread gauges
Thread rolling, rolling dies, knurling, or rod and bar work is a strong plus
Steady, production minded, and shows up every day
