Job Summary

We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Human Resources Assistant to join our HR team. In this vital role, you will support the full spectrum of human resources functions, ensuring smooth operations and fostering a positive workplace environment. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

HR Operations & Employee Support

  • Assist employees with HR-related questions including pay rates, payroll discrepancies, and general concerns
  • Respond to and help manage wage garnishment inquiries and documentation
  • Support employee relations by escalating issues appropriately and maintaining confidentiality
  • Timekeeping & Payroll Support
  • Review, audit, and edit daily time clock punches (approx. 16+ employees or departments) Ensure accuracy of timekeeping records prior to payroll processing
  • Work closely with payroll and supervisors to resolve discrepancies

Recruiting & Staffing Coordination

  • Coordinate and schedule interviews with candidates and hiring managers Communicate staffing needs and job requisitions to staffing agencies
  • Act as liaison between company and external staffing vendors
  • Maintain clear communication with supervisors regarding headcount needs and updates

Onboarding & Compliance

  • Assist with new hire onboarding, including document collection and verification Support new hire orientations
  • Ensure all employee records are maintained accurately and in compliance with company policies and labor regulations

Administrative Support

  • Maintain organized HR files and documentation
  • Track hiring activity, onboarding progress and timekeeping system
  • Support additional HR projects as needed

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Required Basic knowledge of HR principles and practices
  • Strong organizational and clerical skills
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
  • High level of attention to detail and confidentiality

Preferred:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field Experience in manufacturing, logistics, or staffing environments is a plus
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a strong plus
