Location: Milford, CT

Employment Type: Full-Time

Compensation: Starting around $27.50/hour, based on experience

Position Overview

A growing manufacturing and production company is seeking a Facilities Technician I to support the maintenance and reliability of production, packaging, and facility equipment. This is a hands-on opportunity for someone with a background in facilities maintenance, mechanical maintenance, or equipment repair.

The ideal candidate will have strong troubleshooting skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently while supporting production and maintenance teams.

Responsibilities

  • Perform preventative maintenance on production, packaging, and support equipment.
  • Troubleshoot equipment and facility issues and recommend appropriate solutions.
  • Observe equipment during operation to identify potential problems before they cause downtime.
  • Complete assigned work orders and preventative maintenance tasks using a CMMS system.
  • Document maintenance findings, parts used, and completed work.
  • Assist with pump rebuilds and other mechanical maintenance activities.
  • Calibrate wastewater pH probes.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized maintenance area.
  • Respond to production questions and equipment-related issues.
  • Communicate effectively with supervisors, managers, and other members of the maintenance team.
  • Support facility-related maintenance responsibilities as needed.
  • Perform other maintenance and facility duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Previous facilities maintenance, mechanical maintenance, or mechanic experience required.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Strong mechanical troubleshooting and problem-solving ability.
  • Good organizational and time-management skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Manufacturing or production environment experience is a plus.
  • Experience with CMMS systems is a plus.
  • Electrical experience is a plus.
  • Plumbing experience is a plus.
  • Sanitary welding experience is a plus.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to regularly stand, walk, climb, balance, bend, kneel, crouch, and reach.
  • Ability to work with hands and perform mechanical maintenance tasks.
  • Ability to lift and move 50+ pounds without assistance.
  • Ability to work around production and facility equipment.
