Temp-to-Hire | Overnight Event Schedule

Position Overview

We are seeking an Event Operations Supervisor to lead post-event waste and recycling operations at the Rose Quarter in Portland, with potential future opportunities across additional major venues.This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for overseeing cleanup crews after concerts, sporting events, and large-scale entertainment events. The ideal candidate is reliable, organized, and comfortable leading teams in a fast-paced, overnight environment.

Key Responsibilities

Team Leadership

  • Supervise and support 10–12 event staff per shift

  • Assign tasks and ensure efficient completion of cleanup operations

  • Monitor attendance, performance, and adherence to site expectations

  • Provide on-the-ground leadership and issue resolution during shifts

Event Cleanup Operations

  • Oversee sorting of trash, recycling, and compost materials

  • Ensure proper handling and organization of all waste streams

  • Support operations at Rose Quarter and Veterans Memorial Coliseum

Timekeeping & Reporting

  • Verify employee attendance and work hours

  • Manage manual time sheets and photo-based verification

  • Submit accurate records for payroll and client invoicing

On-Site Coordination

  • Act as primary point of contact during assigned shifts

  • Communicate with management and staffing partners as needed

  • Assist with staffing coordination for upcoming events

Schedule

This is an event-based role with a flexible schedule tied to venue activity.

  • Start time: Approximately 2 hours after event start time

    (Example: 7:00 PM event → ~9:00 PM shift start)

  • Shift length: Typically 6–8+ hours

  • Availability required for nights, weekends, and holidays

Hours & Growth Opportunity

  • Initial schedule ranges from 25–40 hours per week, depending on event volume

  • Temp-to-hire structure with clear advancement path

  • Opportunity to transition into a full-time salaried leadership role

Upon Conversion

$60,000–$65,000 annual salary

Compensation

$27–$28 per hour starting wage

Requirements

  • Bilingual (English/Spanish required)

  • Prior experience in team leadership or supervisory roles

  • Comfortable working in physically active, outdoor, or industrial environments

  • Reliable attendance and strong communication skills

  • Ability to work overnight and variable event schedules

Hiring Requirements

  • Background check required

  • Drug screening required (marijuana excluded)

  • No history of violent or theft-related offenses
