Job Description

A growing precision coatings company is seeking a Coating Technician to join its production team. This position is responsible for preparing, coating, inspecting, and finishing customer parts according to specifications and quality standards. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, mechanically inclined, and committed to producing high-quality work in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Prepare components for coating by cleaning, masking, blasting, or other required surface preparation methods.
• Apply specialized coatings according to work instructions and customer specifications.
• Monitor coating thickness, coverage, and overall quality.
• Operate coating equipment, ovens, spray systems, and related production machinery.
• Perform inspections and record production data.
• Identify and report quality concerns or process deviations.
• Follow all safety procedures for handling chemicals, coatings, and equipment.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area.
• Assist with packaging and preparing parts for shipment.
• Support continuous improvement and efficiency initiatives.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Manufacturing, industrial, automotive, aerospace, or coating experience preferred.
• Ability to read work instructions and technical specifications.
• Strong attention to detail and quality.
• Ability to use measuring and inspection tools.
• Basic computer skills.
• Reliable attendance and strong work ethic.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with industrial spray coatings, powder coating, or precision coatings.
• Experience using masking and surface preparation techniques.
• Forklift certification or material handling experience.
• Knowledge of quality inspection procedures.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand for extended periods.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Frequent bending, reaching, and handling small parts.
• Ability to wear required PPE, including respirators when necessary.
