BAE Systems York PA site is seeking a 3rd shift Plumber or Piping Maintenance Person.

This position will:  

• Install, inspect, replace and repair all types of utility and process pipelines, boilers, furnaces, sanitary facilities, fittings and fixtures in plant and office buildings.
• Receive instructions and work orders from Process Supervisor, Assistant Process Supervisor, Lead Person or Self-Directed Work Team.
• Read prints or sketches and determine materials, tools, equipment and work procedures required to perform assigned job.
• Determine correct material measurements for job requirements and performs cutting, bending, threading and connecting operations.
• Perform on a daily basis or as required, inspection, repair, or installation of pipelines for air, water, steam, oils, gases, acids, caustics and sanitary facilities throughout the plant or office buildings and applies various types of insulation and pipe coverings.
• Clean, repair, install and maintain boiler and gas or oil fired furnaces and all pumps.  
• Install or repair drinking fountains throughout the plant and offices.
• Prepare piping materials for welding or special type joints.  
• Install or repair sheet metal work such as rain spout, gutters and flashing.
• As required locate mobile tractors or trucks to handle and transport materials, tools and equipment to and from the job site & return materials, tools and equipment not in use to proper storage area.
• Occasionally perform repair and maintenance tasks on plant and office structures.
• Use personal computers or other data acquisition devices (i.e. bar-code) as required.
• Keep assigned work area clean and safe.

Required Skills and Education

• High School/GED, Completion of a state certified apprenticeship program in relevant field: plumbing, OR: AS Degree/BS degree in relevant technical field and 3 years industrial experience in plumbing or piping position.OR 5 years documented experience in an industrial setting repairing building structures, office modifications, structural welding and ability to fabricate from prints.
• Ability to read prints or sketches and determine materials, tools, equipment and work procedures required to perform assigned job.
• Ability to determine correct material measurements for job requirements and performs cutting, bending, threading and connecting operations.
• Ability to apply knowledge of boilers, sanitary systems and plant infrastructure systems to maximize repairs and installations.
• Works safely at all times.

Preferred Skills and Education

• Journeyman apprenticeship and 5 to 10 years experience.
