Supervisory Responsibilities:
Lead, train, and supervise a team of shipping associates.
Assign daily tasks, monitor team performance, and ensure work is completed accurately and efficiently.
Conduct regular team meetings to communicate goals, safety updates, and performance expectations.
Monitor employee attendance and support management with any disciplinary actions when necessary.
Promote a positive and safety conscious work culture within the department.
Provide coaching and feedback for team members.
Duties/Responsibilities:
Supervise and coordinate the shipping department staff and activities, including scheduling, workflow, and performance monitoring.
Ensure all trailers and parts are properly inspected, loaded, and secured for transport.
Coordinate with production, quality control, inventory, logistics, and the shipping coordinator to align shipping schedules with manufacturing timelines.
Train and mentor shipping employees on safety procedures, equipment operation, and best practices.
Conduct regular safety checks and ensure equipment is maintained and in good working condition.
Resolve any delays or discrepancies in the shipping process quickly and effectively.
Inspect outgoing trailers to ensure proper configuration, labeling, and quality standards.
Must perform other duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
Ability to manage multiple shipments and priorities simultaneously.
Attention to detail in preparing documentation and reviewing shipping requirements.
Excellent communication skills, verbal and written, to interact with carriers, customers, and internal departments.
Strong leadership, communication and problem solving skills.
Problem solving ability to quickly address and resolve shipping and delivery issues.
Working knowledge of freight logistics and load requirements.
Familiarity with DOT regulations, shipping standards, and freight documentation.
Ability to work independently and as a team in a fast paced manufacturing environment.
Adaptability to changing schedules and production timelines.
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to lift and or carry up to 50 pounds at times.
Ability to stand, walk, and move around the manufacturing area for extended periods.
Must be able to bend at the waist, kneel, and squat, walk, climb up and down ladders/scaffolding, stoop, push, pull and/or carry materials.
Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
Must be able to work in hot or cold environments.
Must be able to work in indoor or outdoor environments.
May be exposed to welding, grinding, paint fumes, machinery noise, and extreme weather conditions.
Work Hours: Monday - Thursday | 7:00am - 5:30pm, occasional Fridays
Pay Rate: $26-$29 hr plus the potential to earn incentives for hitting weekly production targets
