Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Yard Driver / Yard Material Handler to take ownership of daily yard operations in a busy industrial environment. This position will be responsible for keeping inventory organized, rotating and pulling materials, staging orders, and safely moving large or oversized materials throughout the yard.

The ideal candidate has experience in a steel, fabrication, manufacturing, or similar industrial yard and is comfortable operating a Combilift or other specialized material-handling equipment.

Responsibilities

• Take ownership of the organization and day-to-day operation of the yard.
• Receive, organize, and properly stage incoming materials.
• Pull and stage materials according to production or customer requirements.
• Rotate inventory to maintain proper stock flow and accessibility.
• Maintain accurate inventory locations and ensure materials are stored safely and efficiently.
• Load and unload trucks and trailers.
• Safely move long, oversized, and heavy materials throughout the yard.
• Operate a Combilift and other forklifts/material-handling equipment.
• Prepare materials for production, shipping, and customer pickup.
• Keep yard areas organized, clean, and accessible.
• Follow all safety procedures when handling materials and operating equipment.
• Communicate with production, shipping, warehouse, and management teams regarding material needs.
• Identify damaged, misplaced, or low-stock materials and communicate issues appropriately.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in yard operations, material handling, steel, fabrication, manufacturing, or a similar industrial environment.
• Ability to independently manage and organize a busy yard.
• Experience pulling, staging, and rotating inventory.
• Experience loading and unloading trailers.
• Combilift experience strongly preferred.
• Strong forklift operating experience.
• Ability to safely handle large, long, and heavy materials.
• Understanding of inventory organization and material flow.
• Strong attention to detail and safety awareness.
• Ability to work independently and take ownership of assigned responsibilities.
• Reliable transportation and dependable attendance.

Compensation

$24/hr
