We’re seeking a Workshop Technician to support a leading watchmaking company. This on-site role is based at our client's facility, requiring a physical presence to perform specialized tasks. The position involves ensuring quality, maintaining tools, and troubleshooting watch movements. It offers an opportunity to work with premium products in a precision-focused environment.

This role is classified as Full Time.

Workshop Technician Responsibilities:

• Maintain and prepare tools, equipment, and measuring devices to ensure operational standards.
• Follow safety protocols and standard operating procedures consistently.
• Inspect and troubleshoot watch movements, identifying issues and executing adjustments.
• Assemble, disassemble, and service watch components with attention to detail.
• Record job details accurately and verify compliance with work orders and quality standards.

Workshop Technician Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• No prior experience necessary; relevant skills can be gained on the job.
• Knowledge of watch service procedures and tools is preferred.
• Attention to detail and hand-eye coordination are essential.
• Ability to work on-site in a manufacturing environment and lift up to 50 pounds.

Assembly

• Maintaining and preparing tools, equipment, and measuring devices

• Maintaining awareness of and adherence to quality standards• Acquiring, administrating and documenting spare parts usage according to SOPs

• Determining wear and functionality of watch parts

• Adjusting endshakes and sideshakes

• Cleaning movements and components

• Servicing additional mechanisms (complications)

• Disassembling, assembling, and lubricating components as needed

• Evaluating need for replacement parts

• Troubleshooting and correcting movements and damaged/worn parts

• Adjusting calendar functions

• Refurbishing mainplates

Timing

• Accurately troubleshooting timing issues and making proper adjustments as needed

• Performing escapement adjustments

• Adjusting hairsprings to be flat and centered

• Adjusting balance wheel end shake to meet standard

• Using timing equipment to accurately adjust movements' timing

• Verifying, analyzing and making adjustments as needed to correct amplitude issues

• Troubleshooting and correcting defective/worn parts

Movement Inspection

• Performing non-invasive inspection of completed watch movements

• Accurately identifying timing issues

• Evaluating hairsprings to be flat and centered

• Evaluating balance wheel for trueness and end shake

• Using timing equipment to accurately determine movements' precision gain or loss

• Accurately identifying amplitude issues and beat error

• Inspecting movements for defective/worn parts

• Verifying end shakes and lubrication points

• Removing automatic module

• Confirming proper working order of all functions of the movement

Dialing & Casing

• Assembling dials and hands on serviced watches

• Adjusting calendar and day-date functions

• Casing up serviced movements

• Installing automatic module

• Preparing watch for final QC

General

• Processing service jobs through Coordination station OR via self-scanning

• Managing personal parts inventory as required

• Recording notes in system appropriately

• Verifying job cards and work orders to movement and case numbers

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an

employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the

duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand; to write and perform data entry

on a desktop computer. Employee may work for extended periods at a watchmaking bench.

The employee is occasionally required to sit/walk/bend; lift and/or carry no more than 50

pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, frequent reading and

the use of a loupe. The noise level in the work environment is usually low. The normal work

schedule is 37.5 - 40 hours per week.
