Overview:
Seeking a Workholding Technical Specialist to support customers with the design, setup, and implementation of advanced workholding and fixturing solutions. This role combines hands-on machining experience, CAD design, and customer collaboration to improve efficiency and precision in manufacturing operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Design and recommend workholding solutions for CNC applications (VMC, HMC, 5-axis).
Evaluate materials, clamping methods, and part geometry to optimize setups.
Create CAD drawings and 3D models using SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or similar software.
Prepare detailed quotes, pricing, and lead-time estimates.
Provide technical support before and after installation to ensure successful implementation.
Collaborate with sales and production teams to troubleshoot and refine processes.
Apply strong understanding of tooling, GD&T, and blueprint reading to daily tasks.
Required Skills & Experience:
Minimum of 4 years of CNC machining experience, including setup and programming.
In-depth knowledge of workholding principles, fixtures, and clamping systems.
Proficient with SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or comparable CAD platforms.
Ability to interpret blueprints and apply GD&T standards.
Strong understanding of cutting tools and machining dynamics.
Excellent math, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Must be available to work on-site in Anoka, MN (no remote option).
Physical & Work Environment:
Mix of office and manufacturing settings.
Occasional lifting up to 15 lbs and light physical activity required.
Standard lighting, ventilation, and PPE as needed for floor access.
