Job Overview:

PRIMARY FUNCTION: The HRIS Support Specialist reports to the HRIS Support Supervisor and serves as the Workday system Tier II primary point of contact. This role builds and maintains high-level customer service in support of assigned HR end-user partners, ensures data integrity, and participates in problem resolution for process and data-related issues, questions, changes, and other Tier II activities as well as creates an environment of trust and superior customer service through accountability, timeliness, and accuracy for internal customers.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS:

  • Acts as primary point of contact for field and corporate end-users, responding promptly to queries through the efficient management of incoming support cases to resolve process and data-related issues
  • Proactively assesses situations and raises potential solutions as identified to team and/or manager for continuous improvement
  • Responsible for maintaining sufficient knowledge, skills, and competencies to perform role as provided and dictated by manager
  • Communicates solutions through utilization of the Workday Help Case Management system (or other appropriate channels as determined) and escalates as needed to appropriate functional service team and/or Tier III support.
  • Assists with Workday maintenance, enhancements, projects, and other operational support as needed
  • Participates in preparing data for functional testing with appropriate end-users and technical groups
  • Appropriately track and submit worked hours in timely fashion
  • Performs additional relevant duties as assigned

SUPERVISOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • None. This is an individual contributor role.
  • Required competencies: Functional/Technical Skills, Action Oriented, Problem Solving, Learning on the Fly, and Interpersonal Savvy

EDUCATION and CERTIFICATIONS:

  • High School diploma.
  • Preferred: Bachelor’ degree in HRIS, HR, IT, Education or other relevant discipline
    • Combination of education and experience may be substituted for degree; course work in Human Resources, Systems Management or Computer Science preferred

EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:

  • Minimum one (1) year relevant HRIS/HR systems experience, preferably Workday.
  • Minimum one (1) year relevant experience supporting large company, preferably in the manufacturing industry
  • Strong customer focus with the ability to communicate, through verbal and written means, with all levels of the organization in a timely, compassionate and professional manner
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to develop and present job aids and presentations for all levels of the organization including multi-cultural individuals and teams
  • Ability to appropriately resolve situations efficiently and effectively while keeping sensitive information confidential
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to key information accurately into appropriate systems
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to independently troubleshoot by reviewing, assessing, and identifying issues within a transaction that may need attention.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills with proven ability to meet deadlines with ability to work independently.
  • Proficient computer skills utilizing Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook)

  • Follow departmental and company safety policies and programs
  • Wear required protective equipment in all areas where mandatory

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to remain stationary for extended periods
  • Moderate use of hands/fingers to operate computer, keyboard and mouse; may sit for extended periods of time
  • May travel infrequently for support to company locations to provide HRIS-related tasks
