As part of our #OneLSI movement: We are looking for a Wood Shop Team Lead to support our team at our location in Arlington, TX. 

Position Overview:

The Wood Shop Team Lead is the principal member of the value-added work force and will perform typical production tasks daily. With additional knowledge, experience, and training, the Team Lead is responsible to guide other members of the work team and to ensure a safe, healthy, productive, and efficient work environment.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Review job assignments daily with each member of the team and ensure work is available for the team members.
  • Inspect products produced for quality, workmanship, accuracy, and completeness before moving product out of the area.
  • Train members of work team for acceptable work practices in quality, safety, and workmanship according to established Company standards, including annual review of the job hazard analysis for the line positions.
  • Maintain good housekeeping in work area, reinforcing a 6S culture. 
  • Help service equipment, tooling, and fixtures, and keep records for preventive maintenance programs.
  • Monitor use and availability of supplies and tools for work team.
  • Conduct cycle counts and control inventory located in work area.
  • Reporting work order completion for shop floor control.
  • Ensure work is completed efficiently to maintain the department’s production schedule.
  • Lead continuous improvement function for work team in activities including BOM and router accuracy, production      efficiency, waste reduction, and safety.
  • Perform typical production tasks for manufacturing of products daily.
  • Maintain cleanliness and all safety standards in assigned area
  • Perform additional assignments in accordance with the Manager’s direction
  • Other duties may be assigned to meet business needs

Minimum Qualifications: 

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; able to conduct team meetings.
  • Proficient computer skills including Office programs such as Excel, Outlook, etc.
  • Proficient basic math skills
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills.
  • Attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to maintain a consistent teamwork environment.
  • Ability to work in a demanding, multi-task environment.

Education and/or Experience:

  • Two (2) or more years of experience in a leadership position.
  • HVAC or refrigeration experience a plus.
  • Possesses EPA Section 608 Certification or is able to acquire certification within the first 6 months of employment.
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment. Sheet metal experience a plus.
