Position Summary
The Wire EDM Programmer/Setup Technician will be responsible for programming, setting up, and operating wire EDM equipment to manufacture precision-machined components. The successful candidate will collaborate with engineering and production teams to ensure efficient machining processes, exceptional quality, and on-time delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Program, set up, and operate wire EDM machines to produce precision components according to engineering specifications and customer requirements.
- Create and optimize machining programs using CAD/CAM software.
- Interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and GD&T requirements.
- Perform machine setups, tool adjustments, and process verification.
- Troubleshoot machining, programming, and equipment issues to minimize downtime.
- Conduct in-process and final inspections using precision measuring instruments.
- Work closely with engineering and manufacturing teams to improve productivity and process capability.
- Maintain setup documentation, program revisions, and production records.
- Follow all safety, quality, and housekeeping standards.
Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of experience programming, setting up, and operating wire EDM equipment in a precision machining environment.
- Experience with Mitsubishi, FANUC, or comparable wire EDM platforms preferred.
- Strong understanding of machining practices, blueprint reading, and GD&T.
- CAD/CAM programming experience required.
- Ability to manufacture complex components with extremely tight tolerances.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
