Job Overview:

Job Description

You will be the Wind Tunnel Systems Integration/Test Asc Manager for the Aerodynamic Test Team which is responsible for delivering high‑fidelity wind‑tunnel testing and aerodynamic research for government and commercial programs. The role will be filled at the Associate Manager level, with approximately 25% of time dedicated to personnel and team leadership responsibilities. Approximately 75% of the role will involve hands-on technical contributions supporting aerodynamic testing. Responsibilities include model design, fabrication, instrumentation, installation, test execution, and data validation. Candidates should have a solid foundation in mechanical design and willingness to work with experienced engineers in model design, including coordination with external fabrication vendors. Experience with data acquisition software (i.e., LabVIEW) for control systems, interfaces with measurement hardware, pressure instrumentation, and data acquisition is desirable. This role may also require occasional travel to off-site test facilities for extended durations.

The role requires setting clear priorities, assigning work, and fostering an accountable team. Given the nature of the role, proven leadership and team-building capability is the primary selection criterion, followed by experience in laboratory operations. Specific wind tunnel experience is desired but not required. These responsibilities include coordinating with customers, scheduling and prioritizing test activities, tracking budgets, managing capital projects, and aligning the team with initiatives of the Functional organization.

What You Will Be Doing
As the Wind Tunnel Systems Integration/Test Asc Manager you will be responsible for leading a multidisciplinary team while contributing directly to critical test activities.

Your responsibilities will include:

Provide technical direction and day‑to‑day leadership for 8‑10 engineers, setting priorities, assigning work, and fostering accountability.
Coordinate test scheduling, budget tracking, and capital‑project oversight to align with functional organization initiatives.
Design, fabricate, instrument, and validate aerodynamic test models; operate data‑acquisition systems such as LabVIEW.
Enforce rigorous safety standards across wind‑tunnel facilities, high‑altitude chambers, and associated pressure‑vacuum systems.
Engage with customers, external vendors, and cross‑functional partners to ensure seamless test execution and data delivery.

Who You Are

Your background includes strong mechanical‑design skills, hands‑on experience in wind‑tunnel or aerodynamic test environments, and proficiency with data‑acquisition software (e.g., LabVIEW). You communicate clearly, influence across diverse groups, and prioritize safety in every activity. A willingness to learn from subject‑matter experts and to mentor early‑career engineers sets you apart.
