We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Supply Chain Manager to lead the end-to-end supply chain and logistics operations at our Willimantic, CT facility. This role is critical in ensuring the seamless flow of raw materials, WIP (work-in-process), and finished goods to support Prysmian’s Construction, Specialty, and Power Distribution cable markets.
Operating within a matrix organization, this position reports to the NA Specialties Supply Chain Sr. Manager and maintains a strong dotted-line relationship with the Willimantic Plant Manager. The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker and hands-on leader, capable of managing both salaried and hourly team members while driving operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and develop the Production Planning, Scheduling, and Distribution Center (DC) Team, overseeing:
Materials Planning
Master and Finite Scheduling
Production Coordination
Shop Floor Scheduling
Shipping and Distribution
Drive performance across key operational KPIs including:
Safety (TRIR)
Cost efficiency
Production vs. forecast (hours and metric tons)
Right First Time (RFT)
Working Capital & Days Inventory Outstanding (DIO)
On-Time In-Full (OTIF)
Employee productivity
Lead all facets of the SIOP (Sales, Inventory, Operations & Planning) Process
Manage raw material procurement and flow using MRP tools within ERP systems (HFA and SAP), in collaboration with Corporate Purchasing.
Partner with Procurement and Central Planning to develop risk mitigation strategies for supply disruptions and price volatility.
Oversee all aspects of distribution operations, including warehousing, inventory control, transportation, supplier management, and customer service.
Ensure accurate inventory control and lead monthly physical inventory counts.
Support continuous improvement initiatives using Lean, Six Sigma, and other methodologies.
Collaborate with commercial and central planning teams on production prioritization, recovery efforts, and quality/claims resolution.
Ensure compliance with industry standards, environmental regulations, and safety protocols.
Foster a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement.

REQUIREMENTS:

Solid logic/reasoning skills which can influence and persuade different functional groups within the organization

Qualifications:
Minimum 5 years in Manufacturing, Purchasing and/or Planning required
Minimum 2 years of supervisory or managerial experience
Bachelor’s degree required, preferred in Supply Chain Management or Business
Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, etc.) is required
Familiarity with enterprise systems and databases, SAP preferred
Work Environment/Physical Demands:
Works out of a normal office/manufacturing environment with standard office equipment available
Will be required to sit, bend, kneel, squat, use keyboard, read, write, and speak fluently
Employee will regularly be required to lift and carry objects of 10-25 pounds as needed
Employee will occasionally be required to lift and carry objects of 25-30 pounds as needed
Employee will be required to work productively and cooperatively in a high-volume, fast paced, highly pressured environment and be able to respond efficiently and courteously to unanticipated problems and crisis
This role is not typically exposed to adverse environmental conditions, except excessive eye strain and possible lifting injuries
When travel is necessary, will be exposed to typical travel environment and surroundings
