Title: Plant Supervisor
Location: Knox, IN
Salary: $92,100 - $96,000 (depending on relevant experience)
Current Schedule: 4:00 p.m. to 12:30 a.m., with flexibility to work other shifts
Focus: The Plant Supervisor oversees 2nd and/or 3rd shift hourly team members and is responsible for ensuring safe, efficient, and high‑quality clay target production. Serving as second-in-command to the Plant Manager, this role manages daily work assignments and scheduling, leads safety and continuous‑improvement initiatives, and drives performance to meet established plant goals and business objectives.
Plant Supervisor Essential Job Functions:
- Monitors product and material flow to maximize utilization of employees and equipment while minimizing scrap.
- Champions the facility’s safety program by conducting safety meetings and audits, performing first‑tier injury and accident investigations, supporting emergency response activities, enforcing safety policies, and ensuring OSHA compliance.
- Ensures employee training, including Job Safety Practices, is completed and compliant. Promotes a positive, productive work environment by motivating employees, supporting good employee relations, and monitoring performance.
- Supports meeting monthly delivery and production requirements while driving continuous improvement in manufacturing performance and equipment uptime.
- Executes work assignments, scheduling, and shift priorities to meet operational demands.
- Contributes to plant‑level business objectives and collaborates with cross‑functional partners to meet production and safety goals.
- Acts as interim Plant Manager on day shift when the Plant Manager is out of the office.
Plant Supervisor Minimum Requirements:
- Must meet one of the following:
- Bachelor’s degree* in Business, Engineering, Supply Chain, or Finance and at least one year of relevant manufacturing supervisory experience; OR
- High school diploma or equivalent and six years of relevant manufacturing supervisory experience; OR
- High school diploma or equivalent and five years of clay target manufacturing experience plus three years of direct manufacturing supervisory or equivalent leadership experience.
- Experience optimizing supply chain, inventory management, and manufacturing processes preferred.
- Familiarity with managing seasonality in product demand and related inventory planning a plus.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; experience with SAP and Dimensions preferred.
- Strong interpersonal skills, including conflict resolution, coaching, mentoring, and training facilitation.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, along with strong analytical, organizational, prioritization, and follow‑through capabilities.
- Demonstrated ability to manage a high‑volume workload, handle multiple tasks, adapt to shifting priorities, and collaborate effectively within a team environment.
- Ability to work alternative schedules and weekends as needed.
- Willingness and ability to travel approximately 10%.
- Valid US driver’s license required.
Location-Specific Requirements:
- This position requires access to ITAR controlled technical data, and as such, employment will be contingent upon the candidate's ability to access ITAR controlled technical data pursuant to an export license approved by the Directorate of Defense Trade Controls, if required.
