About the Opportunity

Under direct supervision, performs simple to complex welding applications. Welds together metal components of products and all types of trailers including Utility Trailers, Cargo Trailers, Gooseneck Trailers, Flatbed Trailers, Dump Trailers, etc... Understands how to perform visual and in-process inspections in accordance with provided quality specifications. Develops skills to read and interpret blueprints. Helps facilitate the team in diagnosing, troubleshooting, and solving welding problems. Supports the team and team's objectives. Learns skills to pass periodic welding tests and qualifications in compliance with qualification procedures.                                                                                                                                            

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Perform work in a professional and safe manner, report unsafe work practices.                                                    
  • Capable of learning and understanding layout, assembly, and welding procedures.                                             
  • Complete and or understand reports including scrap, safety, quality, workorders, inventory, cycle counts, or other documents as presented by the supervision team.                                                                 
  • Bolts, clamps, and tack-welds parts to secure in position for welding.                                                                        
  • May assemble parts by bolting.                                                                                                                  
  • Capable of constant bending, stooping, reaching, and lifting weight up to 50 pounds.  Capable of recognizing team lifting opportunities.                                                                                                                           
  • Capable of learning techniques related to repairing products by dismantling, straightening, reshaping, cutting, and reassembling parts.                
  • Ability to use or learn the proper use of fabrication equipment such as plasma cutter, cutting torch, and other welding fabrication.                                                                                                                        
  • Clean and quality check all welds, set-up/run structural welds, know how to run all welding equipment, ability to read drawings                                                                                                                             
  • Ability to learn or help facilitate the team in diagnosing, troubleshooting, and solving welding problems Within the scope of the job requirements, will be required to adhere to the Company’s Quality Programs and procedures, Company policies and Safety and Environmental Regulations.                                                              
  • May perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Qualifications


Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or G.E.D Equivalent
  • Preferred; Technical education courses, postsecondary institutions, such as vocational and technical institutes, community colleges, private welding, soldering, and brazing schools and/or welding training through the U.S. Armed Forces
  • Must have strong understanding of how to interpret and use blueprints, welding specifications, and welding procedures                                                                                                                        
  • Must be able to use and read welding measuring devices including but not limited to squares, levels, and tape measures.                                                                                                                          
  • Must be able to take and follow written and oral instructions.                                                                                      
  • Must be able to communicate both with supervision and other team members as it relates to job function and current task.                                                                                                                      
  • Must be able to make repair welds using fabrication equipment including but not limited to cutting torches, hand grinders, surface grinders, and wheel grinders.                                                                                                                        
  • Must have basic math skills such as adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing for calculating material fabrication.                                                                                                                        
  • Must be capable of learning the proper use of fabrication support equipment including turntables, cranes, hoist, lift tables, carts, flip tables,
