The client is seeking a skilled, safety-focused Industrial Boiler Mechanic with hands-on experience in boiler system installation, welding, refractory repair, and industrial mechanical work. This is a field-based position, requiring work both in the shop and on customer sites. The ideal candidate must demonstrate strong technical ability, mechanical problem-solving, and a commitment to quality and safety.
Responsibilities Include:
Boiler Equipment Installation: Install, align, and secure packaged boilers, deaerators, economizers, and other pressure-retaining equipment in compliance with manufacturer specifications and ASME/NBIC codes.
Welding & Fabrication: Perform field and shop welding (SMAW, MIG, TIG) on piping systems and pressure vessels; fabricate skids, brackets, supports, and pipe systems.
Boiler Re-Tubing & Repairs: Remove and replace boiler tubes, roll and weld new tubes, and conduct hydrostatic testing.
Refractory Repair & Replacement: Inspect, remove, and install refractory materials; patch, cast, and cure linings to ensure optimal performance and safety.
Pipefitting: Assemble and install pipe systems, supports, valves, and fittings using blueprints and technical drawings.
Code Work: Assist with or perform ASME/NB repair and alteration projects in compliance with regulatory and quality standards.
Safety & Training Compliance: Participate in OSHA-mandated safety training and adhere to internal and client-specific safety protocols.
Team Support & Communication: Maintain a positive and professional attitude while contributing to team goals and cross-functional operations.
Requirements:
Minimum of 5+ years of welding/fitting and industrial mechanical experience.
Proficiency in welding and pipefitting, with the ability to pass weld tests (certifications preferred).
Working knowledge of boiler components including burners, controls, valves, pumps, and expansion tanks.
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and safety documentation.
Strong communication skills (verbal and written).
Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record.
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, work on ladders/scaffolding, and in confined or non-climate-controlled spaces.
OSHA 10 or 30 certification and successful completion of a 10-panel drug screen.
Willingness to travel occasionally with overnight stays.
