Primary Responsibilities
- Fabricate complex custom metal equipment using mild steel and stainless steel per prints, samples, and verbal instructions
- Perform MIG and TIG welding; ability to pass weld tests for each process
- Read and interpret blueprints, sketches, and technical drawings
- Create jigs and fixtures for weldments as required
- Assemble new equipment and components to specification
- Troubleshoot equipment and isolate root causes of mechanical issues
- Work safely and efficiently while meeting production and quality standards
Job Duties
- Operate metal fabrication equipment including welders, grinders, and hand tools
- Utilize measuring tools such as tape measures, calipers, and levels
- Perform basic mechanical work including use of pipe threaders and conduit benders
- Participate in assigned projects and support continuous improvement initiatives
- Follow all safe work practices and wear required personal protective equipment (PPE)
- Comply with all NOV Company, HSE, and Quality policies, guidelines, and procedures
- Support housekeeping and organization of the work area
- Perform other duties as assigned
Education and Qualifications
- Minimum of 3 years of related fabrication or welding experience
- MIG and TIG welding experience required; certification preferred but not required
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints
- Experience using metal lathe, mill, and band saw preferred
- Forklift trainable
- Must be able to use hand tools and common shop equipment
- Welding knowledge and basic mechanical aptitude required
- Ability to work day shift and overtime as required
