Job Description

Food manufacturing company in Newburyport, MA is looking to hire a Welder/Fabricator to join their team! This individual must be capable of meeting the requirements below and have applicable experience.

Full time, First shift, $30-35/hr. Pay varies with experience.

Responsibilities

• Reads engineering prints and/or manufacturing bills of material, and/or verbal/written instructions to determine necessary requirements for the job
• Selects welding procedures best suited for the type of work and materials involved
• Assemble/weld parts in jigs or fixtures
• Willing to work overtime when required
• Uses a variety of precision measuring tools
• Inspect and verify conformance of parts to specifications/tolerances
• Strictly follows all safety requirements for welding, forklift truck, hoist operations and housekeeping
• Regular attendance and daily punctuality are necessary

Skills & General Requirements

• High School diploma or GED. Technical school welding certification training preferred.
• Min 2 years of stainless steel MIG & TIG welding experience
• Ability to read mechanical engineering drawings
• Good organizational skills
• Knowledge of precision measuring procedures, industry codes and standards
• Ability to work individually and as part of a team
