Description
Fabricates and weld parts, tools, and equipment based upon the requirements of Maintenance, Manufacturing, and Engineering.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Essential duties and responsibilities of a Maintenance Technician include but not limited to the following:
- Fabrication, and repair of production equipment and parts
- Responsible for ordering parts and materials needed for repairs, projects and to maintain relevant inventory.
- Supports assigned projects from planning and fabrication through assembly, inspection, and testing, using knowledge of machine functions, material properties and mathematics.
- Measure, examine, and test completed units in order to detect defects and ensure conformance to specification
- Helps engineering with feedback on their designs and drawings.
- Responsible for the equipment and environmental conditions in the workshop.
- Works follows assigned work orders, closes them.
- Maintains a safe work environment
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Proficiency in Welding Processes, must be able to weld steel and stainless steel.
- Proficiency in fabrication tools and equipment.
- Ability to design parts and equipment without engineering drawings
- Must be able to read and interpret blueprints
- Must be physically able to work standing and walking for extended periods of time.
- Must be able to follow verbal and/or written instructions.
- Must be Fork Lift and loader certified or capable to be certified.
- Must be willing to work overtime.
- Must be willing to work weekends if needed.
- Must be willing to work a set schedule.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
· High School diploma required
· Trade/Technical schooling (preferred but not required)
LANGUAGE SKILLS
- Must be able to read, speak, and understand English.
OTHER DESIRED SKILLS
· Welding of aluminum, TIG processes
· Knowledge/proficiency with machining equipment (lathes, mills)
· Computer Aided Design software (CAD
· Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word).
· Ability to prioritize work.
· Ability to work with little or no direct supervision.
· Ability to analyze and solve problems.
· Knowledge Lean Manufacturing
