Murray Equipment, Inc. is seeking an experienced & qualified individual for a career opportunity as a Welder/ Pipefitter in our Vulcan Manufacturing Systems division. This person will be a dedicated team player, responsible for the layout, position, alignment, fit, and welds (TIG Welding) of parts and for assembly and fabrication of quality engineered systems for the liquid handling industry and other products in accordance with specifications set by customer and company expectations. Successful candidates will be able to pass a pre-hire physical process including hair follicle drug test, will be motivated, self-directed/ self-starters, mechanically inclined, and well organized. A successful person is detail-oriented and dependable, can follow instructions and consistently produce good work.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Reads Bills of Material and Engineering Drawings.
- Lays out work according to Engineering Drawings.
- Sets up and operates gas welding machines, and plasma arc torches
- Weld parts according to work orders, blueprint layouts and verbal instructions.
- Maintains accurate Schedules, record keeping of settings, and controls for repeat applications.
- Uses inspection gauges, such as scales and levels.
- Trains less experienced employees in set‑up and quality production standards.
- Assists in scheduling workload, and recommends tooling needs to save time.
- Reports production discrepancies to management.
- Orders consumables for welding area.
- Maintains tools, gauges and equipment in a clean, orderly and safe manner.
- Complies with company policies and procedures paying special attention to safety regulations.
- Performs other related duties as assigned
