Job Description

We are seeking a welder to join our team for the welding of galvanized steel fence posts. The ideal candidate will be responsible for cutting, fitting, and welding galvanized steel using appropriate welding methods while maintaining high safety and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

Weld galvanized steel fence posts according to specifications and blueprintsCut, grind, and prepare galvanized steel surfaces for weldingUse MIG or stick welding techniques suitable for galvanized materialsEnsure all welds meet structural and safety codesInspect completed work for accuracy and durabilityFollow safety protocols including proper ventilation to minimize fume exposureMaintain tools and equipment in safe working conditionWorking in the shopAny additional duties that are needed

Job Requirements

Skills & Experience:

• Welding experience (preferably with galvanized steel)
• MIG and/or stick welding techniques
• Ability to work from technical drawings or blueprints
• Experience with fence post installation is a strong asset
• Familiarity with grinding, cutting, and surface prep tools

Certifications (preferred but not always required):

• AWS (American Welding Society) certification
• OSHA 10 or 30 certification for construction safety

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly
• Comfortable working at ground level and at height
• Able to stand, bend, kneel, and work outdoors for extended periods
