Welder - Greensburg, LA
WELDER - GREENSBURG, LA
Responsible for welding heavy structural metal components based on blueprints, work orders, or verbal instructions under direct supervision.
Duties:
- Perform welding tasks under supervisor direction
- Adhere to appropriate Weld Procedure
- Provide quality welds meeting specifications
- Complete assigned job duties
- Ensure temporary bracing is installed and removed as needed
- Operate various equipment and tools
- Move and organize materials
- Maintain a clean and orderly workstation
Qualifications
Requirements:
- High school diploma/GED equivalent
- Valid driver’s license
- Written and verbal communication skills
- Basic shop mathematics knowledge
- Experience in heavy structural fabrication
- Ability to read blueprints and welding symbols
- Proficient in welding equipment operation
- 1-2 years welding experience, including flux core welding
- Successful completion of a welding test
Safety Requirements:
- Adherence to safety rules and procedures
- Regular inspection of welding equipment
- Daily tool inspection
- Proper use of personal protective equipment
- Specific PPE for welding tasks
Physical and Environmental Requirements:
- Ability to stand for long periods
- Occasional lifting of tools, equipment, or materials up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to withstand bending, squatting, or crouching
- Handling tools, equipment, or materials frequently
- Ability to work in various weather conditions
