Job Description

Scientific Products, an ATS Company is expanding our team and have immediate opening for a Welder!

  • Interprets blueprints, sketches, drawing, manuals or specifications with inputs from immediate supervisor to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished workpiece, sequence of fabrication operation and set-up requirements.
  • Uses required tools, equipment, documentation and supplies required to complete required welding tasks.
  • Cuts, prepares and assists in the positioning, alignment and fitting of components.
  • Bolts, clamps and tack-welds parts to secure in position for welding.
  • Uses equipment and welds parts using TIG, MIG welding processes to meet specified engineering requirements under guidance of supervision.
  • Performs miscellaneous fabrication and assembly of components as required to complete fabricated assemblies.
  • Repairs or reworks fabrications when necessary.
  • Must meet or exceed all applicable standards and customer, engineering and quality requirements, as is required.
  • Able to safely operate material handling equipment, including, but not limited to: cranes, fork trucks, scissor lifts, etc., where required and available.
  • Completes paperwork accurately and timely as is required in the manufacturing process, including, but not limited to: Time and Attendance Sheets, Fabrication Routers,
  • Suggests changes for improved processes and cost savings.
  • Follows all safety policies, precautions, recommendations and procedures as may be applicable.
  • Complies with all company policies, procedures and work instructions to ensure continued ISO certification.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 1 to 2 years welding experience.
  • Demonstrates capability to become ASME certified. May be certified in one or more ASME welding processes.
  • Minimum high school graduate level required.

  • Work in compliance with divisional health, safety and environmental procedures
  • Refrain from removing or altering safety devices or guarding unless hazardous energies are controlled through lockout-tagout methods
  • Report any unsafe conditions or unsafe acts
  • Report defect in any equipment or protective device
  • Ensure that the required protective equipment is used for the assigned tasks
  • Attend all required health, safety and environmental training
  • Report any accidents/incidents to supervisor
  • Assist in investigating accidents/incidents
  • Refrain from engaging in any prank, contest, feat of strength, unnecessary running or rough and boisterous conduct
