Essential Job FunctionsReview daily welding production schedule with Production Lead to insure awareness of requirements and output required Read blue prints to determine required weld locations, components and layoutsOperate all position, stick and wire welding equipment used in the department Weld component parts as required referring to prints or product books as necessary Perform grinding, deburring and polishing duties required in the process of producing finished, high quality welding projects Report immediately to the supervisor any and all problems that may affect safety, equipment, tooling and or quality Inspect work periodically to insure that welds are consistent with approved levels of quantity and quality established by the company Manufacture prototype brackets to be used on new, changed or proposed products as requestedRepair any re-weld to German DIN/AWS standard and field weldingOperate bar code scanner/computerSet-up small fixtures as requiredOther duties as assignedRequirementsPhysical Demands:Pass Jager Eye examination, annuallyPerform work in the plant facility 100% of the timeLift up to 50 pounds, as neededEducation/Skills/Experience:Technical degree in Welding requiredMinimum 2 years welding experiencePass Schwing America, Inc. welding tests and maintain welding certification by passing periodic welding tests conducted by the Quality Control departmentKnowledge of German and American weld symbols requiredQualified to the required German and American Standards in all positionsQualified to German DIN EN StandardsQualified to Table 4.11 in the AWS D.1.1 code bookExcellent problem solving and trouble shooting skillsAbility to read blue printsFamiliarity with computers to look up work instructions, track labor and other tasks as needed
