Job Overview:

The primary focus for this position is to assist the weld department in welding operations to ensure production requirements are met, and a quality product is shipped on time and defect free to ensure sale sample requirements are met for both internal and external customers.

Essential Duties:

  • Perform minor repairs and apply basic welding processes
  • Manually Mig Weld
  • Install wires and set the heat for the welding machine
  • Visually inspect weld length and penetration
  • Identify components for work assignment
  • Complete operator work sheet on a daily and hourly basis
  • Refer non-conforming issues to team leader or supervisor
  • Perform quality checks on a daily basis
  • Read and follow daily production schedule
  • Handle parts and equipment in a safe manner
  • Maintain 5s in the work area daily
  • Fill out operator daily work sheet

What We Are Looking For:

  • High school diploma or GED; plus at least two years of experience in a production environment with a satisfactory work history; or an equivalent combination of education and experience is required. Training and/or certification in welding is preferred..
  • Demonstrated skill in all job functions including setup and changeovers is required.
  • Demonstrated ability to work as a team is required.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate orally and written is required.
  • Ability to lift 30lbs-80lbs consistently throughout the shift is required.
  • Ability to successfully pass the departmental welding test is required.
  • Previous welding experience is desired.
  • Demonstrate the ability to communicate orally and written as required.
  • A demonstrated wiliness to continue to learn is desired.
  • Ability to work overtime, off shifts and weekends as required, in addition to willingness to rotate jobs as required.

Work Environment:

Regularly exposed to the manufacturing plant environment. Potential exposure may include, but is not limited to: solvents, dusts, noise, heat, outside weather conditions, cramped spaces, and building construction areas. Potential physical demands include, but are not limited to: frequent walking and standing, occasional climbing, twisting, stooping, kneeling, lifting, carrying, handling, pushing, and pulling.
