You will be assisting with the up-fitting, and customizing of vehicles used by Utility companies, including aerial cranes, bucket trucks, boom trucks, dump trucks, conveyors, digger derricks, pressure diggers, and aerial lifts and more.

  • Monday – Friday, Day shift starts at  5am 
  • Mix of welding including .035 mig, .045 flux core, tig and push-pull .035 on aluminum.
  • Metal thickness welded varies from 14 gauge to 1”, 3/16” to ½” and mild steel.
  • Some truck frame welding also.
  • Machines are 280 to 350 amp output

Summary

Custom Truck One Source is a truck up-fitting and repair facility that has openings for metal fabricators. The employee will be responsible for creating custom fabricated weldments per the customer’s request. The ideal candidate will be able to take the customers weldment request and self-sufficiently create the finished product with standard metal fabrication equipment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Maintain safe work environment at all times.
  • Quickly and safely evaluate the needed steps necessary to finish the needed task.
  • Identify the materials and tooling needed to complete the needed task.
  • Cut, bend, punch, shape and weld metal to create the needed part which may include anything from a bracket or bumper to an outrigger sub frame and larger.
  • Properly allocating time spent on repair orders.
  • Produce a product that are up to Custom Truck’s quality standards.
  • Ensure a timely turnaround of vehicles.
  • Operate over head and Jib cranes as well as forklifts.
  • Identify ways to improve safety, quality, and productivity in the fabrication process.
  • Correctly follow the job instructions. 
  • Communicate with employees in the fabrication department as well as other departments.
  • Responsible for cleaning and maintaining shop and equipment.
  • Perform any other duties as assigned by the Fabrication Manager or any other manager.
  • Maintain a professional and technical knowledge of equipment and materials by attending educational workshops.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Previous welding and fabrication experience.
  • Must be able to pass a welding certification test.
  • Must hold a valid driver’s license
  • High school diploma or the equivalent.
