Merchants Metals an operating company of Fencing Supply Group and is seeking a Welder to become an integral part of our team! We are looking for an enthusiastic, safety-conscious, and self-motivated individual who takes pride in their welding abilities. 

The Welder position is responsible for many aspects of aluminum gate fabrication, including the transportation of materials, cutting of materials, welding, and drilling for the assembly of the finished product as well as the preparation of the finished product for shipment. The Welder will use specialized equipment to weld and assemble metal/pipe racks. 

The primary responsibility of a Welder is to cut, prepare, and lays-up pipe sections on a table or jig and weld using welding equipment.

Responsibilities:

• Manufacture and fabricate finished metal products
• Install and repair various equipment and components
• Calculate material measurements to verify specifications
• Conduct tests to evaluate weld quality and tolerance
• May operate other machinery; such as forklift
• Other duties as assigned

Work Environment

• This position works in a warehouse setting. This role uses standard warehouse equipment such as welder, etc.Requirements
• Schedule - M-Th 6am-430.  OT is Fridays, typically work 3 Fridays per month 

Requirements

Qualifications

• 2+ years previous experience in welding, manufacturing, or other related fields
• Familiarity with welding tools and procedures
• Ability to handle physical workload  
• Ability to read shop drawings and follow verbal instructions.
• At least one year of experience welding with aluminum

The employee frequently is required to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee is occasionally required to sit and climb or balance. The employee must have the ability to make the sound judgment needed while driving a forklift. 

The employee must regularly lift and move objects up to 80 pounds, frequently lift and move things up to 80 pounds, and occasionally lift and move objects that weigh more than 80 pounds. This job's specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
