Description

  

Position Summary: The KPO Welder Fabricator is responsible for performing high-quality welds on common and stainless steel and for assembling components to meet production standards. This role requires the ability to creatively build and adapt solutions to address plant issues, often without needing blueprints, while providing service and support to internal plant clients.

  

Work Schedule:

  • Monday through Friday, 7 am to 5 pm, with Saturdays scheduled once every three weeks.

Essential Job Functions:


1. Welding Quality and Control:

  • Perform MIG and Stick welds on common and stainless steel to ensure high-quality outcomes.
  • Ensure welding procedures are followed according to quality standards.
  • Conduct quality control checks to verify all product specifications are met.


2. Internal Client Service and Support:

  • Collaborate with internal clients to understand their needs, providing fabrication solutions for specific production issues.
  • Adapt and develop innovative in-plant solutions, even without blueprints, to meet production demands and improve efficiency.


3. Fabrication and Assembly:

  • Read and interpret product schematics and specifications; assemble components with precision.
  • Verify dimensions and specifications, ensuring all parts are properly aligned and fitted.
  • Use grinding tools effectively to achieve required finishes and adjustments.


4. Production Standards and Safety Compliance:

  • Adhere strictly to safety standards and personal protective equipment (PPE) guidelines to maintain a safe work environment.
  • Follow metric and U.S. measurement systems, with knowledge of conversions to maintain precision in specifications.
  • Work with and maintain basic shop and power tools, ensuring the use of appropriate guards and safety mechanisms.
  • Complete all tasks in accordance with hot work permits, tool safety standards, and OSHA regulations.
  • Participate actively in safety trainings and contribute to creating a safety-focused culture in the workplace.




Requirements

Requirements:


1. Technical Skills and Knowledge:

  • Experience with MIG and Stick welding.
  • Proficiency in using grinder tools.
  • Basic Geometry Knowledge.
  • Knowledge of both metric and U.S. measurement systems and conversions.
  • Forklift operating experience.
  • Competence with basic shop tools and power tools.

2. Core Competencies:

  • Strong time management skills to meet production deadlines and requirements.
  • Proactive attitude in identifying improvement opportunities and providing constructive feedback.
