Welder/Fabricator
Key Responsibilities
Welding & Fabrication
- Perform MIG welding on steel and aluminum components
- Fabricate trailer frames, ramps, rails, and structural components
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and measurements
- Ensure weld quality meets company standards
- Maintain clean, consistent, and structurally sound welds
- Verify dimensions and fitment throughout the fabrication process
Production Responsibilities
- Work efficiently to help meet production schedules and customer demand
- Assist with trailer fit-up and fabrication preparation
- Operate welding and fabrication equipment safely
- Help maintain organized workstations and production areas
- Support continuous improvement efforts within the weld department
Quality Assurance
- Inspect welds and fabricated components for quality and accuracy
- Identify and correct defects before trailers move to the next department
- Take ownership of craftsmanship and final product quality
- Communicate issues proactively with leadership and team members
Safety & Equipment
- Follow all company safety procedures and guidelines
- Utilize PPE and required safety equipment properly
- Safely operate welders, grinders, saws, forklifts, and fabrication tools
- Report unsafe conditions or damaged equipment immediately
- Help maintain a safe and positive manufacturing environment
Team Collaboration
- Work closely with CAD, assembly, paint, and shipping departments
- Help maintain production flow during busy periods
- Assist teammates as needed to support company goals
- Contribute ideas for efficiency and process improvements
Qualifications
- Previous welding and fabrication experience preferred
- MIG welding experience required; aluminum welding experience is beneficial
- Ability to read tape measures, blueprints, and technical drawings
- Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail
- Ability to lift and handle materials up to 50 lbs
- Ability to stand, bend, and move throughout the workday
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn
Working Conditions
Manufacturing environment with exposure to:- Welding equipment
- Grinding and cutting operations
- Dust, sparks, and varying temperatures
- Power tools and heavy materials
Frequent standing, bending, lifting, and movement required
PPE including safety glasses, gloves, welding helmets, and hearing protection required
You should be proficient in:
- Welding Setups for Production
- Experience in a Manufacturing Environment
