Responsibilities

• Perform welding and fabrication tasks on railcars using various welding techniques.
• Conduct inspections and assessments to identify mechanical issues and necessary repairs.
• Repair and maintain components such as brakes, wheels, and couplers.
• Collaborate with team members to troubleshoot and resolve mechanical problems.
• Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work environment.
• Document work performed and maintain accurate records of repairs and maintenance.
• Stay updated on industry standards and best practices in welding and mechanical repair.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical training in welding or mechanics is a plus.
• Proven experience as a welder or mechanic, preferably in the rail industry.
• Strong knowledge of welding techniques, tools, and safety practices.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Valid driver's license and willingness to work flexible hours as needed.
