Department: Welding
Position reports to: Welder Supervisor
Summary:
The Welder/Fitter will produce quality weldments in a timely manner within set parameters and tolerances. Lay out, fit, and fabricate metal components to assemble structural forms and parts using knowledge of welding techniques, and engineering requirements. Interprets blueprints and drawings to produce specific weldments. Fit and weld parts to blueprints to form desired weldments. Trains others as needed.
Job Duties:
1. Weld and fit parts together in sequence according to blueprints to achieve best outcome. Ensuring all welds are to standard and penetrated.
2. Trim parts with cutting torch or plasma for precise/proper fitment.
3. Set Welding machine to proper setting for material thickness.
4. Remove all weld balls and sharp corners from parts.
5. Place parts on pallet with proper documentation to process in blast and prime.
Requirements:
1. Education: High School or equivalent
2. Experience: Manufacturing experience preferred. Basic welding and cutting torch/plasma experience.
3. Certifications: Welding school certification preferred
4. Other required KSA (Knowledge, Skills & Abilities) must be able to read a tape measure and blueprints.
