WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING

The Welder is a key position in our Metal Tech operation. The position applies appropriate welding processes to join, surface, fabricate or repair metal parts and assemblies, as specified by work orders or production drawings.

Reporting to the Production Supervisor, you’ll primarily work with a small team of machine operators and welders.  

A highlight of your day-to-day will include:

• (Critical) Demonstrates willingness to take direction and follows instructions.
  (Critical) Adheres to schedule and maintains regular attendance at work-site. Works overtime as assigned.
  (Critical) Maintains a safe and clean work environment, returns all tools after use to proper storage location, and performs routine
  housekeeping (i.e.: cleaning, organizing). Performs all work in accordance with established safety procedures. Identifies unsafe
  working conditions and notifies supervisor.
  (Critical) Fabricates metal parts and assemblies by cutting, burning, and welding various metals. Uses welding machines, oxyacetylene
  torches, plasma cutters, various hand and power tools, cranes, forklifts and other lifting equipment, when certified, in an
  appropriate manner.
  (Critical) Inspects completed work for conformance to specifications. Ensures work products meets specifications, including
  dimensional criteria, squareness standards and weld call outs through personal checking of product; obtains first part approval on
  each new task.

Jensen Metal Tech manufactures steel and aluminum products. Metal Tech’s main business is designing, engineering, and producing access hatches, doors, covers, and grates for utility applications such as in-ground utility vaults, utility boxes, ladders, stairways, etc.
