GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION

Repair heavy-duty trucks and trailers according to company standards and procedures. Welding, fabrication and assigned tasks.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Repair tanks including welding, electrical wiring, brakes and suspensions.
• Perform required DOT tests.
• Fabricate parts needed to repair or modify tank transports.
• Install and repair bottom loading systems related to fuel transportation systems.
• Wreck repair and reconditioning.
• Maintain a clean and organized workspace.
• Other duties assigned.

EDUCATION & TRAINING

• High School Diploma (or GED or High School Equivalence Certificate)

KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE

• Minimum of 3 years experience in general heavy-duty truck and/or trailer repair.
• Aluminum, steel and stainless-steel experience required.
• Welding experience in Tig and Mig processes required.
• DOT tank experience is a plus.

SKILLS & ABILITIES

• Valid drivers’ license with clean driving record. Class A driver’s license preferred.
• Troubleshooting: Determining causes of operating errors and deciding what to do about it.
• Repairing: Repairing machines or systems using the needed tools.
• Equipment Selection: Determining the kind of tools and equipment needed to do a job.
• Active Learning: Understanding the implication of new information for both current and future problem-solving and decision-making.
• Mathematics: Ability to solve simple equations; ability to use mathematics to solve problems.
• Reading Comprehension: Understanding written sentences and paragraphs in work related documents.
• Critical Thinking: Using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems.

WORKING CONDITIONS

WORK ENVIRONMENT

• Exposure to dirt, dust, fumes, noise and temperature variances in outdoor/indoor environment.

The annualized pay ranges vary based on work location. The salary range for this position is $24.00 – $30.00 per hour, depending on experience, skills, and qualifications
