Job Title: Welder – Compactor & Container Repair Technician
Job Type: Full-Time
We are seeking a skilled and safety-conscious Welder – Compactor & Container Repair Technician to join our maintenance team. In this role, you will perform welding, repairs, and maintenance on compactors, containers, and carts. You'll play a key part in keeping our equipment in top condition to support our operations and ensure safety and compliance.
Perform welding and minor repairs on compactors, containers, and carts
Inspect and maintain hydraulic and electrical systems on compactors
Apply various welding techniques (arc, gas, aluminum, brazing, soft soldering)
Conduct service calls for compactor repairs and perform preventive maintenance
Utilize flame cutting, bending, beveling, and forming techniques on metal and plastic
Complete accurate documentation using fleet maintenance software
Assist senior welders with larger projects
Read blueprints, follow verbal instructions, and complete standard layouts and setups
Follow all safety procedures and maintain a clean, OSHA-compliant work area
Required:
High school diploma or GED
0–4 years of welding or related mechanical experience
Valid driver’s license
Basic welding skills and knowledge of welding safety procedures
Ability to use shop tools and repair equipment effectively
Preferred:
Technical or vocational welding training
Experience with hydraulic and electrical diagnostics
Familiarity with fleet maintenance software
Regular use of hand tools, welding equipment, and diagnostic tools
Occasionally lift up to 30 lbs
Infrequent exposure to cuts, burns, and chemical hazards
May work in noisy, dusty, or outdoor environments occasionally
Primary work setting is a maintenance shop
