NOTE: This is a weekend position, Friday - Sunday, 12-hour shifts
Job Summary:
We are seeking a reliable and skilled welder to join our production team. In this role, you will be responsible for performing welding tasks on an assembly line to fabricate and join metal components according to blueprints, specifications, and production schedules. This is a fast-paced environment that requires attention to detail, efficiency, and a strong focus on safety and quality.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform welding operations using MIG welding.
- Join metal parts on an assembly line using jigs, fixtures, and proper welding techniques.
- Read and interpret blueprints, welding symbols, and work orders to determine project specifications.
- Maintain production pace and meet daily welding quotas without sacrificing quality or safety.
- Inspect welds for accuracy, strength, and quality; make corrections as necessary.
- Operate hand and power tools, grinders, and other fabrication equipment safely.
- Perform minor maintenance on welding equipment and report malfunctions.
- Follow safety guidelines, including the use of PPE and proper machine guarding.
- Keep work area clean and organized to maintain a safe and efficient workflow.
- Communicate with team members and supervisors regarding issues, improvements, or process changes.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent (technical or welding school is a plus).
- 1+ years of welding experience in a production or manufacturing setting (entry-level candidates may be considered).
- Proficient in MIG welding processes (will need to pass an in-house welding test to be considered).
- Ability to read blueprints and use measuring tools such as tape measures, calipers, and weld gauges.
- Familiarity with quality control standards and basic inspection methods.
- Able to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods of time.
- Strong work ethic, punctuality, and team-oriented attitude.
Preferred Experience (Optional):
- Welding certification (AWS or equivalent) is a plus.
- Experience working on an automotive, heavy equipment, or structural assembly line.
- Forklift or crane operation experience (if applicable to the role).
