Our client, a premier heavy-equipment manufacturer known for engineering excellence, is seeking a skilled Structural Welder to join their production team. This is a high-impact role involving the fabrication of critical components for machinery frames, pressure vessels, and specialized ground support equipment.
If you are a detail-oriented tradesperson who takes pride in structural soundness and precision, we want to hear from you.
In this position, you will be responsible for the full lifecycle of the weld—from interpreting complex schematics to the final inspection of the finished product. You will work with fabricated, cast, and forged components to assemble robust structural forms.
Core Responsibilities:
Planning & Layout: Select appropriate equipment and plan the assembly layout based on blueprints, diagrams, and technical specifications.
Precision Fitting: Align and fit components accurately to ensure structural integrity before welding.
Expert Welding: Execute high-quality welds using arc, gas-shielded arc, or gas welding equipment.
Refurbishment: Repair and restore products by dismantling, straightening, and reassembling parts as needed.
Quality Control: Inspect all completed welds to ensure they meet rigorous safety and structural standards.
Education: HS Diploma or equivalent.
Experience: 1 year of related work experience OR a recent graduate of a technical school/Associate’s program.
Technical Proficiency: * Ability to certify on steel and aluminum (MIG process, 3G position vertical up; steel vertical down 3G).
Proficiency with trade tools: torpedo levels, combination squares, Allen wrenches, and adjustable wrenches.
Strong mathematical skills (fractions, decimals, and units of measure).
Blueprint Literacy: Ability to read and interpret complex safety rules, operating manuals, and technical drawings.
Testing: Applicants must successfully pass a hands-on weld test.
This role is physically demanding and requires a high level of stamina in a fast-paced manufacturing setting:
Ability to stand for up to 10 hours and work in small/confined areas.
Willingness to weld in various positions, including laying on your back or with arms extended for long periods.
Capacity to lift up to 50 lbs. unassisted and climb ladders/platforms frequently.
Comfortable working in a hot environment while wearing all required protective gear.
Join a team that values safety, efficiency, and craftsmanship. This is an excellent opportunity for a welder looking to apply their skills to diverse, large-scale structural projects.
