Position Overview
Summary |
The purpose of this position is to weld trailer components using the Metal Inert Gas (MIG) welding technique to create precise, smooth, continuous seams with an eye for detail and a focus on meeting and exceeding the company’s quality standards. |
Essential Functions |
- Use MIG welding technique to weld trailer components, including processes such as gas metal arc, plasma arc, and shielded metal arc.
- Safely use and operate welding gear and equipment.
- Examine workpieces for defects, blemishes and quality; notify supervisor of any concerns and perform repairs as needed.
- Use measuring tapes, combination squares, and levels to lay out, position, align, and secure parts prior to assembly.
- Monitor the fitting, burning, and welding processes to avoid overheating of parts or warping, shrinking, distortion, or expansion of material.
- Operate overhead cranes.
- Sign off on completed work orders and quality of work.
- Maintain, organize and clean workstation and equipment.
- Ensure all actions are in compliance with rules, regulations, policies, and procedures.
- Complete other duties and cross-training activities as assigned.

Qualifications
Qualifications |
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Two (2) to four (4) years of MIG welding experience preferred

Specialized Knowledge |
- Metal Inert Gas (MIG) welding
- Knowledge, recognition and use of hand and power tools
- Experience with plasma cutting
- Knowledge of arithmetic, algebra, geometry, and their applications
