Job Description

Aegis is currently partnering with a growing manfacturer in Gurnee to identify Welder to join their team!

Responsibilities:

• Fabricate and weld carbon steel and stainless steel tanks, pressure vessels, and other custom process equipment using a variety of welding processes, including GTAW (TIG), GMAW (MIG), FCAW, and SAW.
• Read engineering blueprints, lay out and fit components, verify dimensions, and assemble large fabricated weldments while ensuring they meet customer and quality specifications.
• Work on large cylindrical tanks using turntables and rotating fixtures, requiring precision when welding round components and interpreting degree measurements.

Requirements:

• 2-5 years of welding/fabrication experience- at a minimum they must be proficient in MIG welding
• Proficient in reading blueprints
• Ability to use hand and power tools, & measuring tools – tape measure, protractor, grinders, wrenches, deburring tools, drills, saws, grinders
• Comfortable lifting up to 50 lbs. & dealing with larger pieces of structural steel
