One of our automotive clients is looking for a Certified Welder close to Grand Rapids, MI.
**Pay **- $24 - $27/hr
Key Responsibilities:
Read and interpret blueprints, welding symbols, and specifications.
Lay out, measure, cut, fit, and weld metal components.
Perform MIG, TIG, and ARC welding.
Fabricate and assemble structural steel, machine components, tanks, and metal parts.
Set up and operate fabrication equipment such as brakes, rolls, shears, flame cutters, and drill presses.
Inspect welds and finished work for quality and conformance to specifications.
Repair or fabricate replacement components to minimize equipment downtime.
Use measuring tools such as squares, rulers, and measuring tapes.
Complete basic repair documentation and electronic work orders.
Skills & Qualifications:
Experience with MIG, TIG, and ARC welding.
Ability to read blueprints and understand welding symbols.
Strong mechanical aptitude and basic math skills.
Ability to use welding, fabrication, and hand tools.
Knowledge of workplace safety practices.
Strong attention to detail and troubleshooting skills.
Basic computer skills and experience with CMMS is an asset.
Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks.
Willingness to work weekends as needed.
Work Environment & Physical Requirements
Ability to work in a hot manufacturing environment.
Ability to lift varying weights.
Ability to stand and walk for extended periods, up to 12 hours.
Ability to wear required PPE.
