 GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION

Performs duties related to the welding of various component parts and assemblies utilizing MIG welding procedures on aluminum material, and the installation of various factory accessories or the assembly of various sub-assembly components on all types of golf cars and utility vehicles, in accordance with specified drawings and procedures. Stages and delivers material from supermarkets to points of use as assigned.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Performs in and out-of-position welding.
  • Performs hand fabricating.
  • Participate in weld lab classroom training for IR/Trane and ASME/PED certifications as needed.
  • Work involves considerable stooping, bending, and working on overhead assembles and on man lifts/platforms/risers/ladders.
  • Will be required to lift up to 40 pounds.
  • Receives work instructions from a member of management or a team lead.
  • Must be able to follow standard work and complete production and maintenance records and other documentation related to operations.
  • Must participate in basic problem-solving, 5-S, and lean activities.
  • Must demonstrate the ability to perform the above duties with no additional training required.

 OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Maintains a safe and productive work environment by ensuring the work area is clear of tools, brooms, debris, and other items that may present a hazard.
  • Will be required to perform other duties as requested, directed, or assigned.
  • Must be able to work overtime as necessary.

QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE JOB

Education:

  • Completion of formal welding program or equivalent on-the-job experience
  • Demonstrated reliability.
  • Weld Process:   3FU, 3 GU, 4F, 4G
  • Completion of formal welding program or equivalent on-the-job experience. 

Experience: 

  • Previous welder and/or manufacturing experience.

KEY COMPETENCIES

  • Mechanical and technical skills.
  • Safety management mindset.
  • Focus on quality control.
  • Dexterity and hand-eye coordination, including the ability to grasp, manipulate, and assemble parts and components that are often very small.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Requires occasional lifting of objects of objects 25 to 50 pounds.
  • Work requires periodic stooping/bending and frequent walking/standing.
  • Work involves activities that require special safety precautions, e.g., working around moving parts, machines, or vehicles.
