JOB SUMMARY This position is responsible for joining two pieces of metal together using specialized equipment. |
PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES - Read and interpret blueprints and weld symbols.
- Determine the most appropriate welding equipment or method based on requirements.
- Set up components for welding according to specifications.
- Set up equipment and apply appropriate welding techniques to produce quality welds.
- Assemble parts by bolting and riveting.
- Repair products by dismantling, straightening, reshaping, and reassembling parts.
- Inspect and test welds to determine whether the weld is of suitable quality for its intended application.
- Ensure all work performed is in a quality minded, tidy & accurate manner.
- Adhere to all Company policies.
- Follow all applicable company and corporate policies, guiding principles, procedures, and programs, including but not limited to quality, health, safety, and environmental requirements.
- Attend work per work schedule.
- Perform other work-related tasks as assigned.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS - High School Diploma or Equivalent (preferred)
- Associate degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school, or related welding experience and/or training; or equivalent education and experience.
- 2-4 years of experience
- Basic reading, writing and math skills (required)
- Proficiency in TIG and MIG welding
- Manufacturing or experience (preferred)
- Knowledge of tools, equipment, and application techniques common to this trade
- Must be able to lift to 50 pounds
- Must be able to pass pulmonary Function and Respiratory Function Tests
- Must be able to pass a weld test
- Must be able to use and read welding measuring devices to include but not limited to squares, levels, and tape measures.
- Must be able to work under limited supervision
- Must possess good communication skills
