Job description:

The Combination Welder is responsible for performing high‑quality welding operations on vessels and related components using multiple welding processes while adhering to company standards, safety requirements, and quality control procedures.

Essential Functions of the Position:

  • Successfully pass a 3G welding test using GMAW (MIG).
  • Successfully pass a 2G welding test using SMAW (Stick).
  • Read and interpret weld symbols, blueprints, drawings, and specifications.
  • Perform GMAW,, and SMAW welding in accordance with designated Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS).
  • Weld fittings, pipes, nozzles, and flanges while maintaining proper tolerances.
  • Weld both inside and outside surfaces of required parts.
  • Complete assigned work in a timely manner while maintaining company quality and workmanship standards.
  • Perform all duties in a safe, professional manner and in compliance with established company policies and procedures.

Other Functions and Responsibilities:

  • Identify and report unsafe working conditions or equipment.
  • Ensure accurate daily completion of time sheets for all assigned and performed work.
  • Ensure proper handling and care of all parts, assemblies, units, and equipment during production.
  • Ensure all required documentation is completed accurately and recorded properly.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area, ensuring all tools and equipment are accounted for upon completion of tasks.
  • Remain responsible and accountable for all work performed.
  • Perform other duties and tasks as assigned by the Supervisor and/or Plant Manager.

Physical Demands:

  • Ability to move intermittently throughout the workday, including standing, walking, bending, stooping, climbing stairs and ladders, and operating a motor vehicle when required.
  • Ability to lift materials up to 50 pounds.

Working EnvironmentIndoor, shop-level production environment:

  • Exposure to loud noise, debris, temperature fluctuations, fumes, noxious odors, and hazardous materials.
  • Work may occur near moving mechanical parts, extreme heat or cold, or caustic chemicals.
  • May be required to work in confined spaces, on elevated platforms, or around large production materials.
  • Required use of personal protective equipment (PPE) such as eye, ear, and respiratory protection while on the shop floor.
