Job Summary
The Welder is responsible for producing high‑quality welds on vessels and related components using multiple welding processes, including MIG, TIG, and Stick welding. This position works in a structured production environment with established procedures, safety standards, and quality expectations.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Successfully pass a 3G GMAW (MIG) welding test
- Successfully pass a 2G SMAW (Stick) welding test
- Read and interpret blueprints, weld symbols, drawings, and specifications
- Perform GMAW (MIG), GTAW (TIG), and SMAW (Stick) welding per approved Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS)
- Weld fittings, pipes, nozzles, and flanges while maintaining required tolerances
- Weld both interior and exterior surfaces of components as required
- Complete assigned work efficiently while meeting quality and workmanship standards
- Follow all company safety policies and procedures
Additional Responsibilities
- Identify and report unsafe working conditions or equipment
- Accurately complete daily time sheets and required documentation
- Properly handle and care for tools, equipment, parts, and assemblies
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area
- Remain accountable for all work performed
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Supervisor and/or Plant Manager
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, and climb stairs or ladders throughout the workday
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- Ability to work in various welding positions for extended periods
Work Environment
- Indoor, shop‑floor production environment
- Standard welding conditions including noise, heat, fumes, and use of provided personal protective equipment (PPE)
- May involve working near moving equipment, elevated platforms, or large production materials
- Company maintains required safety training, procedures, and PPE standards
