Summary:
Fit and layout components, weld aluminum and steel component parts to make gate assemblies per blue prints and job travelers using MIG welding equipment. Work with engineering to resolve print issues; with operations support and supervisor to resolve job traveler questions and troubleshoot production floor issues. Order supplies, administer welding test, and coach/train other employees.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities (KSA’s):
High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED); or three (3) to six (6) months related experience and/or training in similar environment. Two (2) years of the following: Welding experience. Manufacturing experience a plus, able to read weld symbols, blue prints proficiently. Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients and other employees of the organization. Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs. Ability to compute rate, ratio, percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs. Must be able to read tape measure to 32nds of an inch. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

The person performing this job is required to wear safety glasses with side shields at any time that they are performing any duties in the production area of the shop. While welding, the employees is required to wear safety shoes and a welding helmet when welding.
